Arise!

Over a year after my last post! Yikes. I’m going to try to update at least once a week and see how it goes.

This first one is just to plug some illos I did last month for a Paul Krugman piece in the NYT Sunday Magazine. It was a great call to get, and has led to some new contacts, but it did consume all two weeks of my summer vacation.

Click on the above draft image to see the article online. It’s great to be archived like that, but the drawings looked sooooo much better in print that it’s hard not to cringe at their digital counterparts.

I’m curious to find out what blog platform you happen to be utilizing? I’m experiencing
some small security issues with my latest blog and I would like to find something more secure.
    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hello Mr. Lutes,

I see that this last post of yours is almost 5 years old, so I hope you are in good health and still visit this blog occasionally. I just wanted to let you know that I’m a recent yet big fan of your work. A friend lent me his copy of Berlin #1 recently (purchased abroad) and it was so stunning that I simply *had* to read the rest! Since D&Q books aren’t available locally I managed to finally order them online and get them all shipped to me. Despite the international shipping cost being a real killer I have no regrets whatsoever, except for one (which I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about) – when do I get to read the rest of this wonderful magnum opus of yours? I binge read the first 18 as soon as they arrived and have re-read them too – sometimes just staring at and admiring the art and wishing I could draw like you – and now I’m having severe withdrawal symptoms as I realise there are no more volumes available (yet) to satisfy my fix. Please, *please*, finish the rest ASAP! Indeed I’m hoping you’ve taken some time out in this last half a decade from your no doubt busy schedule to finish at least a couple of volumes more, if not all the rest (I believe the series is due to end at #24?) Looking forward to hearing some good news on this front soon,

    Thanks,

    A fan from India
